Same Sex Attraction

Sunday, January 10 at 7 PM in the Sanctuary
Speaker: Stephen Moss
We will hear from a follower of Christ struggling with same-sex attraction in the context of the local church, followed by a time of Q&A. Bring your friends, and be ready to text your questions, which will guide theevening’s discussion.
Earlier that same day, join us for lunch with speaker Stephen Moss after the 10:30 worship service.  If you have questions, or if you want to RSVP for the luncheon, contact Kevin Greene.

Race & The Church

“Race & History: How Does It Affect the Here and Now?”

Second Monday Men’s Ministry

Monday, January 11 at 6:30 PM
Join us for WEPC’s monthly men’s fellowship, including dinner and a time of teaching in the Fellowship Hall. There is no charge for dinner, and every man is welcome. RSVP to Bill Chippendale.

Weekly Wednesday Night Fellowship: 

“True Spiritual Direction”
Beginning January 13, 6:00-7:30 PM
Life is complex.  The Bible’s Letter of James
provides us with straightforward spiritual guidance in light of the essential teachings of Christianity.  This class is for anyone that would like to grow in grace as they learn to follow Jesus Christ. Led by Kevin Greene in Room 35.

Inquirers’ Weekend

January 15-17, 2016
Learn about our church history, beliefs, ministries, and how to
become a member at WEPC.
Required Sessions:
Friday: 6:30-9 PM in the Fellowship Hall (dinner included)
Saturday: 9 AM-12 PM in the Fellowship Hall (breakfast included)
No childcare provided for the required sessions.
 
Optional Session:
Sunday: 7 PM
Dessert at the Shelbys’ home. Children are welcome!

WEPC Leadership Summit

Sunday, January 17 at 6 PM
The Leadership Institute continues online at
wepcleadershipsummit.wordpress.com where we work together through the Sinclair Ferguson book, The Christian Life. Contact Joe Brown for a copy of the book.
Our gatherings each month include a short worship service, the Lord’s Supper, and a time with pastors. These evenings are open to all, but are designed for those believers who have been following Christ for a while. Take the time this Winter and Spring to explore more of the intricacies of the biblical worldview and the abundance of the Gospel. Childcare is provided for elementary school and younger. (Middle and high school youth group meet concurrently.) Email Karen Howe to RSVP for yourself and for any childcare needed.
 

Common Good RVA 2016 Conference

Location: Veritas School (3400 Brook Road)
Most of us have wondered, “What’s my place in the world?” Join us for a conference aimed at helping Christians find their place both in God’s story and Richmond’s story through their work in the world. Learn from a national expert on the intersection of faith and work and hear from local practitioners who have found their place contributing to the common good of Richmond. Sunday School Open House

Sunday, January 24 at 9 AM
All are invited! Parents, please drop your children off in their classrooms and then join us in the Fellowship Hall.
A light breakfast will be served and the children will
share what they have been learning about Jesus this
year in Sunday School.

Saturday, February 13 at 6:30 PM
All young ladies are cordially invited to attend an Enchanted Evening with their father, grandfather, or special guest. Cost is $15 per family. Registration coming soon!
