CARITAS
July 18 – 25 // Open to all adults to serve with their families
Are you looking for a family-friendly mission opportunity this summer right here at home? CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter) is the area’s largest and most inclusive emergency shelter and relies on the generosity of local congregations to physically house, feed and provide basic necessities for those in need. We have the opportunity to keep homeless families together by making WEPC their home for the week. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of WEPC to work together to express the body of Christ by caring for homeless families in our area.
We are seeking volunteers to help in the following areas:
- Transportation to the Tuckahoe YMCA in the evenings for showers
- Providing bagged lunches
- Cooking and serving dinners
- Staying overnight as a church representative
- Providing laundry service and more.
Email CARITAS Key Volunteer Cindy Kiefer (cgkiefer@verizon.net).
