Safety & Abuse Prevention

West End Presbyterian Church’s purpose for establishing this Safety and Abuse Prevention Policy (SAAPP) and accompanying procedures is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of our covenant children and youth.

As a community of faith and a Presbyterian Church in America congregation, we seek to conduct the ministry of the gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all of our children and youth as well as that of our volunteer ministry leaders.

It is our prayer that God continues to protect the children and youth within West End Presbyterian Church from harm. While the policies enacted are an effort to do just that, we acknowledge that it is the Lord who is our strong tower and refuge, not a policy.

At WEPC, we understand that food allergies are becoming more common among infants and children. Therefore, it is our policy to provide only pretzels or Cheerios (see ingredient list below). Occasionally, the teachers will provide a different snack, but in those cases all parents should be alerted in advance.

If your child has food allergies, please carefully communicate with the volunteers each week your child’s health concerns. You may desire pack a small snack.
